About Fulginium

A senior-led technology and ventures practice.

Who we are

Fulginium is a technology and ventures practice founded by Marco Rapaccini ↗ — a technologist with 10+ years building software across FinTech, FashionTech, manufacturing, logistics, and the charity sector. We partner with founders and leadership teams who need a technical partner that has actually done the things they're advising on.

How we work

We operate as a lean, senior-led team. Every engagement is led by Marco personally — but we don't work alone. Depending on the brief, we assemble the right people around the work:

  • Marco Rapaccini — Founder & Lead. Leads every engagement. Accountable for strategy, delivery, and client relationship. Your single point of contact.
  • Specialist contractors. Senior domain experts brought in for specific needs — hardware engineers, designers, data scientists, security specialists, and more. Engaged per project, not on permanent retainer.
  • AI tooling. Applied throughout to accelerate delivery — from code generation to research, testing, and documentation. This is how a small team punches above its weight without inflating costs.

The result: clients get the depth of a larger organisation, the accountability of a boutique, and none of the overhead.

Our Approach

  • Direct over diplomatic. We'd rather tell you what's wrong than sell you what you want to hear.
  • Shipped over perfect. Real products in the hands of real users beat theoretical architectures.
  • Transparent by default. Our rates are published. Our availability is honest. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so.
  • Committed to change. Meaningful growth requires more than new tech — it requires organisational commitment. We work with teams willing to do the work.

Why Fulginium?

Fulginium is the Latin name for Foligno — a small city in Umbria, central Italy, and Marco's hometown. The name is a deliberate signal: a practice with roots and identity, not a faceless consultancy. It reflects a belief that the best work comes from people who know where they stand — and are comfortable working anywhere.

Fulginium was previously known as MR Global Solutions. The rebrand reflects the practice's evolution toward a clearer, more focused identity.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Build and Transform?

Build is hands-on product engineering — for founders and SMEs who need to ship software, build MVPs, or launch digital capabilities. Transform is strategy and tech leadership — Fractional CTO, architectural direction, legacy modernisation, and technical due diligence for established organisations. Full details on the pricing page →

How does pricing work?

We publish our rates transparently. Build starts from £3,000 per sprint week (£600 per delivery day). Transform is £1,125 per engagement day. Every engagement is a fixed-scope Statement of Work — no open-ended billing. Ongoing engagements receive a 10% discount.

Do you work with startups or established businesses?

Both. Build suits early-stage and growth companies that need to ship products fast. Transform is more common with established organisations that have legacy systems, complex change programmes, or need fractional technical leadership. If you're not sure which applies, a 15-minute call will usually make it clear.

What does a typical engagement look like?

It starts with a 15-minute call to establish fit and understand the brief. If there's a match, we follow up with a clear proposal — scope, approach, and cost. Engagements range from focused sprints to ongoing retainers. You'll always know what you're paying for before work begins.

How quickly can you start?

Typically within one to two weeks of an initial call, depending on current availability. For urgent work, it's worth getting in touch directly — we'll be honest about what's possible.

Do you work remotely?

Yes, primarily remote. On-site work can be arranged when it genuinely adds value — workshops, stakeholder sessions, team kick-offs — and we're available internationally for specific meetings. We're not scared to jump on a flight or a train when it matters. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the client.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. Standard NDAs are a normal part of our engagement process and can be signed before any substantive discussion of your project.

Where are you based?

We're based in Cumbria, UK — working with clients nationally across the UK and internationally. Most engagements run remotely, with on-site visits arranged when they add genuine value.

Why should I trust Fulginium?

A few reasons. Our rates are published — no surprises. Every engagement is led personally by Marco Rapaccini, who has 10+ years of production software experience and 4 filed patents. We have real case studies across 14 client projects, and active ventures where we have genuine skin in the game — so we advise from experience, not theory. If we're not the right fit for your project, we'll tell you.

What currencies do you accept?

We accept payments in GBP, EUR, and USD. All prices are benchmarked against our stated GBP rates — invoices in EUR or USD are converted at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of invoicing.

Are you a body shop or staff augmentation service?

No. We don't place developers into your team to fill a headcount gap. When you engage Fulginium, you're buying expertise, delivery, and — where relevant — strategic leadership. We own the outcome, not just the hours. Every engagement is scoped as a fixed deliverable, led by Marco personally, and structured as a B2B vendor relationship. If you need staff augmentation or body count, that's not what we do — but we have a range of partners we can point you towards.

Why isn't your email publicly available?

Just trying to avoid spam. If you're genuinely interested, the easiest route is to book a 15-minute call, reach out to Marco on LinkedIn, or drop a WhatsApp message at +44 7594 175369.

Can you do a blended rate for a project where both Build and Transform are necessary?

Yes, we can. Projects that span hands-on engineering and strategic leadership aren't unusual — we can structure a blended rate that reflects the actual mix of work. The best starting point is a conversation.

Let's work together.

Direct conversations, transparent rates, no discovery-call theatre.
